Konnichiwa, a new concept specializing in Japanese sushi, steak, seafood and more, has just opened its doors in the former Rick Erwin's Deli location at 101 Fall Park Drive. The restaurant is the second brick-and-mortar location of Konnichiwa, a concept out of Charlotte, NC, which also operates smaller popup.

The staff has been very friendly every time I've come in here, usually during lunch with co-workers and usually to go. I've only had their sushi rolls, Shrimp Tempura and Hwy 9. Both were delicious and filled me up with maybe 3 pieces left. Prices are reasonable and it's nice to have a sushi place open.

Only open for about 10 days they are newly open and finding their way. They still don't have a sign up, only a temporary one. Their menu is outstanding and the service and professionalism is exceptional.

The restaurant was nice and clean and provided a lot of seating. We did have a little of a wait in between being seated and ordering. They were a little busy so no big deal.

LOVE the menu/foods, but not so in love with the pub-like vibe.which is fine in itself (if it's an Irish restaurant and/or bar), but just doesn't match the Japanese genre/menu. For most, it probably doesn't matter. Sadly, I'm bugged out by it.just too weird. STILL, the thing is this. Their sushi rolls are stellar.and they have a HUGE variety.
